Our vehicles can be supplied with 2 main types of battery chemistry, each with its own benefits.

LTO

Lithium Titanate (Li2TiO3) — LTO

LTO batteries have very high level of safety and high power but are less energy dense. These cells have exceptional life cycle performance and do not degrade excessively when exposed to fast charging.

The LTO battery in the ZED70 Ti consists of individual 23Ah LTO cells combined into modules which provide a voltage of 330V, providing a capacity of 60kWh.

NCM

Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide (LiNiMnCoO2)

(NCM or NMC, depending on elemental proportions) is a common and very successful Li-ion system with good all-round characteristics.

The NCM battery in the ZED70 consists of individual 17.5Ah NCM cells combined to provide a voltage of 335.8V and a capacity of 88kWh.

Safety by Design

In 2020, ZERO Automotive partnered with OZ Minerals and the Adelaide Metropolitain Fire Brigade to test and validate the safety and stability of various battery technologies within stressful environments.
